MY HIKING FRIENDS

I began to hike, or let’s say, “lamo” , two years ago. I enjoyed it very much, especially enjoying being among strangers. But as time goes by, strangers become friends. There are several team leaders, so called “head donkey”, they are so characteristic outstanding that I would like to tell some stories about them here. The first “ head donkey” I followed is called “手下留棋“. That day when I got to the appointed place, I found that I was the first one to come. After 15 minutes, there was a young man approached to where I was standing, asked me if I was the member of the team of “手下留棋“。 I said yes and he said he was the one. I looked at him . This was a handsome guy, aged about 30. he had thick black hair. He likes to say” That’s nothing” “ No big deal”. It sounds that everything to him is so easy. But to me, the first time to climb a big hill like Wutongshan, everything to me was so hard. This guy was so full of energy that he could not stay even a single minute being quiet, but he took good care of his team mates. About noon time we stopped by a stream. He brought out some cookers and began to make coffee for us. He served the coffee to a MM who turned out to be the weakest one in this team. He had a lot of food with him and he shared all of them with us. After we had our meal and drank the coffee, he began to do the washing up. Later I got to know, all the head donkeys in MF would do the same thing, but they never get paid. How amazing! I would like to find out what makes them willing to be a team leader yet get nothing, especially in a society like Shenzhen. ---------------------------------------- |

My friend, I know my English is not that great, I don’t even know the name for this English corner of Doyouhike, but I like it and I hope it will be bigger and more popular with everyone’s effort. My second hiking friend is Mr. “伴你走天涯“ 。 To me, he is a very serious and quiet person. Each time when I join a hiking team, I will try to get familiar with the head donkey as quickly as possible, but not to this guy. I went out with his team for more than three times, yet I still dare not be too casual with him. If you don’t know him, you will think he is a piece of ice. When he looks at you, you will shut up immediately because of the noble coldness in his eyes.. But I know in the bottom of his heart, he is just like a child. Once I saw him running around the track of a primary school with a little girl, He had nothing on but shorts . He was sweating after the badminton game. More than ten of us all stood there watching, laughing so loud. What impresses me most is that he can write very good articles and shoot great pictures. Well, all the MM in his team will become such a beauty in his articles and photos. That is the reason why so many pretty girls would like to go hiking with him, hehehehehehe…

Hiking is one of the thing i like when i am free. Just join hiking without thinking anything.

“Do you know where I am from?” This was the question when I first met Fat Horse. Of course Fat Horse is only his ID. In MF, you never use your real name. Every one has an ID. If you don’t like, you don’t need to tell people where you are from, what you are doing or if you are married. “I guess you are from the North.” I said. “ No, but I will give you one more chance.” he said in Cantonese. But his Cantonese has some kind of accent, so I said,” Well, I think you are a Hakka.” He smiled, “ I am from Chaozhou.” Ok, so he must be the boss of his family, but he tells everyone that his wife is his boss. “She is my leader, my head and my spirit as well.” How I am eager to meet this famous Ms Fat Horse. If we walked slow, he would said,” If my wife is here with us, we will walk even slower.” That makes us feel happier because it seems that we are not that bad. Why does he call himself Fat horse? He told me that he was born in the year of Horse, and he used to be very fat, more than 170 pounds. After a year in MF, he lost about 35 pounds! Wow, what a great job!! He goes hiking every Saturday, most of the time every Saturday and Sunday. But even I do the same thing; I don’t think I can lose any pounds because I can never resist the temptation of delicious food! As you know, my friend, we usually go eat a big dinner after the whole day mountain climbing. And because we sweat so much, we won’t feel guilty when we pour down the cold beer, and fill our stomach with the tasty meat and all kinds of food. We chat happily, get to know each other better and become friends at the table. Before we know it we already overeat. How can you lose any weight? Well, let’s just enjoy the life, forget about our weight! Mr. Fat Horse is a person easy to get along with. He is a funny guy, full of sense of hummer. He does not care if you make fun of him. We will joke all the way through and I feel being happy is just that easy. He is one of my favorite head donkeys.

this kind of story and feeling only can write in English...and funny story you never can show like this....too difficult to read. I like hiking...but English...shit, too difficult for me. I never used it if I don't have to.but seem someone can write in English....god!
