"Security and defence forces of Esscom including the air and navy units were involved in a chase and exchange of shootings to intercept the kidnapper's boat near Pulau Mataking.
"But the criminals who were from Southern Philippines managed to escape into international waters," he said in a statement.
State Police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib is expected to hold a press conference to give further details on the matter.

5个持枪歹徒绑架了来自中国广东广招（？）的的杨在林（音），安全部队和海警在马达京附近和对方交火，但最终被他们逃脱至公海。
之前从Singamata Reef酒店被绑走的高华云（音）目前还不知所踪，现在又多了个受害者。
之前我倒觉得无所谓，年初还带着父母去仙本娜玩了一下，但是目前看来，还是安全第一了。

相对来说马达京应该离马步更近，不管是马达京、邦邦岛还是卡帕莱、马步岛，都算离岛。在马达京交火估计是因为马达京的驻军接到消息后在对方逃跑路线上堵截。
