I seriously agree with most of your opinions if not 100%.
I think to keep it from commercialization is one of the worst decisions the owners of this site made.
Agree! Propose mutual development between consistent activities and articles with pictures, learning from the mode of MF@SZ. However,it is hard to initiate, for communication habit of language is a barricade. Let's hope for the better.
Let's organize something so as to activate this place. Maybe I should apply to become a Banzhu here.
I can imagine that in the begining there won't be many people attending our activities. But if we make our best efforts, there will be some day this place become a vivid place attracting more and more highly educated, openminded, English spoken "donkeys".
suggest u may bring this link to other website, like lonelyplanet, virtualtourist, etc., so that u may have some English speaking person to post here. To avoid it turn into an English Corner eventually.

I think we can do everything the donkeys do, such as camping, mount-climbing, swimming, long distance walking, either FB or ZN.
We don't even need a native E-speaker. The only rule for us is trying your best to speak only in English. If you can't that's ok.
I hope this place can be where our English lovers get together. I don't think it can be some place attracts a lot of foreigners.

I'll try to figure out if we can arrange something in the near future.
Unless it's in English class, I think it'll be quite awkward for us to try to speak English when we share a perfectly good Chinese language. However, it'll be good for us to get together because at least we share a common interest in English in addition to LaMou. I'll try to join you but I won't be free this Sunday. Since there are not a lot of traffic in this thread, to jump start, may I suggest we do Mount LianHua this Thursday or Friday and then to bars? Or we can simply go for dinner this Thursday or Friday. Just to get to know each other.

MF should have a base oversea before it can internationalized.
By the way, if it's just positioned to be a "non-commercial" website, how could it be internationalized? only for and by enthusiasm?

I'm close to Mount LianHua so I do some short hiking quite often. Perhaps we could also go to bars or restaurants for some FB activities.
