I would like to go to Guilin or Yangshuo. Can you tell me how to get there from Shenzhen? I want to take a bus there. Where exactly does the bus depart from? What time does the bus leave and return?
Also, what is the best way from Shenzhen to Yunnan province? I would like to go to Kunming, Xishaungbanna, and Tiger Leaping Gorge, near Shangri-la.

hehe, it's easy to take trip from shenzhen to yangshuo, you could find many buses at shenzhen gymnasium in the weekend(friday night). But you'd better to reserve the seat first in case of no vacancy. Just call any travel agency to reserve the seat.
As I know, the best way to travel to KunMing is taking flight. Booking ticket early makes you get great discount and 500RMB is lowest flight price. Is your friend a foreigner? If not, show him the threads on other boards. There're plenty of contents regarding to that.
If he is a foreigner, better suggest him go via air. It is now good holiday season, either Yangshuo or Lijiang would be a good destination.
Yes , the best choice to go to KM from SZ is by air. generally you only need to pay RMB 500-600 from SZ to KM and about 700 from KM to SZ.
there is also flight between LiJiang and Xishuanbanna , but the ticket has no discount.
