Bonn - City of Beethoven

Beethoven House
Bonngasse 20, 53111 Bonn

This is the house where Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770. Largely maintained in its original condition, the building now accommodates the biggest Beethoven collection world-wide: paintings and portraits, original manuscripts and first editions of meaningful works.

In the 19th century the house fronting the street was used as restaurant. When the whole building complex was put up for sale and was in danger of being torn down, twelve interested citizens of Bonn founded the Beethoven House Society in 1889. The Society remains today the body responsible for Beethoven's birth house, and it also owns the largest collection of Beethoveninan in the world.
(当整座房屋面临拆除威胁时,波恩的十二位市民于1889年建立了贝多芬故居协会,他们购买了房屋,并设立了纪念馆至今。)

Totally there 12 rooms in the House, tourists can only photo outside the room. The House is so quiet that you can hear the "gejigeji" when you walk on the wooden floor.

the Back house towards the garden. After their marriage in 1767, Beethoven's parents lived here.
