[SHENZHEN LOCAL HIKE]Qi Niang Mountain

Qi Niang Mountain, meaning mountain of seven girls, is located south wing of Da Peng peninsula of Long Gang district, 79 kilometers from downtown Shenzhen. With height of 869 meters, Qi Niang Mountain is the second highest mountain of Shenzhen. Qi Niang Mt. is linked with the Shenzhen’s third highest mountain of Da Yan Ding at 796, forming the Qi Niang and Da Yan Ding mountain complex which covers most area of the south wing of Da Peng Peninsula.

Qi Niang Mountain is lying along the south to north direction, standing high from the sea and bearing an atmosphere of mystery from the local saga.

Qi Niang Mountain has a native scenery with abundant vegetation, with assembling of woods, cirrus, grasses and bamboos below 650 meters and grasses and bushes above.

From the top of complex, you will see Da Peng bay from southwest and Da Ya Bay from Northeast, embraced by reefs, sand beaches as well as beautiful banks.

Qi Niang Mt. has been announced by the government as a prospective suburb park.

The hiking routes include:

No.1.Traditional route.
Starting from the water bottling plant of west mountain foot, the route is a ridge route and has a sharp grade. As the regular used route, its soil track runs through the woods. There’s a flat height at the 490 meters. A normal hike will takes two to three hours.

No.2 Dong Feng Range route.
Under the Dong Feng peak at 375 meters, there is three forks to choose, one of whick leads to Gao Ling Jiu Village. The route is also a ridge route and has a longer distance with flat slope and dense bushes. It takes two to three or longer time for a normal hike.
