go to chiang mai by bus is better ,price is 250 B,leave at 6pm.10 hours.you can sleep in bus ,it's good.you can contact with world wide travel agent in khao san road.it's worthwhile and confortable.now i am in chiang mai,just treking back from pai.is anybady in chiang mai now.

My email was sent to them on 20 Feb while their confirmation came on 23 Feb. The total fees for two round-trip (Bangkok-Chiang Mai), 2nd class, one upper berth and one lower berth on train Special Express No. 1 and No. 2 respectively is THB3144 (including the 200B handling fee they collect, i.e. (781+671)*2+200)
The same train tickets reserved with travller 200 will cost about Total: 3,461 Baht (please refer the above for the breakdown.)

The road to chiang mai is very good.not like the way from yangshuo to guangzhou,and the bus is for foreigner,it,s comfrotable.it's better than the long way bus in china,and it will save you 400B.some travel agent in khao san th can arrange it for you .price is 250B
you can order the bus in chiang mai ,it's very easy to order.so many GH and travel agent can arrange it for you ,price 250B.ok ,now ,i will come back to Bangkok,then go to ko samet.see you again.
250 vip with air ,toilet ,it's 2 floor big bus.so good.if u go to chiang mai ,you can stay in nice place 1 GH .the GH is so good ,doule room200 B with hot watet shower,fan ,toilet.and the staff there is so friendly,and the can arrange some tour to pai ,mae hong song.it's real a good choice.when i was there we chating,drinking,so good feeling

泰国铁路局是可以通过email预订的车票的，火车站有专门窗口取票，每email手续费200b！
我也问过泰国的当地人，他们说，只要不是周末公众假期或者大的节日，提前一天买，上铺的话应该没问题的！

I don't wish to take the bus lar.. cause our schedual is very tight, we need to have a good sweet sleep..
two years ago, we tried to take the overnight bus from Yangsuo to Guangzhou, the GG cannot sleep at all and shouting all day long the day after..

我去年7月底在曼谷时，原打算去清迈，结果正好赶上周五，火车票售完。又不想坐大巴，虽然便宜才150泰铢，结果没去成。不过后来想起朋友说过，泰国的大巴座位很宽，坐起来很舒服。也有很多人这样去的。
在靠山路上的travel agency都可以买到票。我当时在Chakrapong Road（垂直靠山路的一条路，也有很多guesthouse和travel agency)上Rainbow Guesthouse旁边一家问的价，7：40pm发车，8：55am到达的一班，风扇车厢 上铺635铢，下铺705铢；空调车上铺795铢，下铺885铢。旅行社也要赚点，自己去火车站买会便宜点。
我本来也是想先订车票的，怕没票！不过想啊想，回来的票应该没问题，去做bus也不错啊！这样不就可以感受泰国两种不同的交通工具咯！呵呵！
坐巴士，车会开得很快吗？偶怕。。头文字d那样漂移那就惨咯。。。
谁能介绍一下曼谷到清迈的汽车，据说vip最好，vip难订吗？
如果不是一定要卧铺，当天在华南蓬都可以买到清迈的火车票，没有想像的那么紧张，而且座票二等带电扇的也挺不错的，又便宜，如果是空调的，那就是空姐的服务了，

250B的是指普通没有空调的车，还是VIP车？
同意楼上的，如果要体验泰国火车，倒也不妨，但最经济，最快，最方便曼谷<->清迈的方式我觉得是VIP BUS了。有对比才有鉴别，呵呵

再想问一句，我看到网上VIP BUS的价钱都是3，4百B，怎样才能拿到250的价钱？是跟靠山路的旅行社拿吗？有介绍的旅行社吗？
其实我们二人10号下午坐亚航的飞机从澳门-曼谷，是2点多的飞机，如果可以的话，比较希望当天就可以坐车去清迈。。。
时间上允许吗？最害怕是。。亚行误点了。。理应4点半到曼谷的。。。
请问vip bus最晚几点出发呢？可以赶得上吗？（我想，如果晚上10点还有车走的话，问题应该不大吧。。。）一定需要预定？or可以即买即走。。。
