There's no problem of getting a visa on arrived in Bangkok international airport. You can get a 15 days visa with paying 1000bahts.
The only problem is getting out from China without a visa.
The best way is fly to Macau or HK with your passport<they don't check even you don't have a Thai visa, the only thing you need to show is you have a flight ticket to Bangkok or plus a return ticket, of course you need to have some stamps in your passport>, then go to Bangkok from Macau or HK. Don't worried about leaving HK or Macau without a Thai Visa, I did it in August.
by the way I think there's Thai consolute in Shanghai isn't it ? if there's one, pay money do a one-day visa.
