Quality of the photos is mainly depensed on the external flash you had used.
To help your camera to focus faster, any white LED torch(small one) should works great with with a very long run time.
On the other hand, if you are going to use the Light instead of the flash (for Close Object only) . You will need a powerful light that give the nature white. HID for example.
I would prefer a good external flash with a Led Focusing torch. Coz the flash can give you nature white and more effective range. (with torch), the beam is narrow, and area of light is not even unless you add a diffuser to the torch.
