Across India-Pakistan Border for chinese（通过印巴边境的中国游客注 ...

Last week, When I wanted to across border from india to pakistan at attari check point, land border officers told me that chinese, iran, pakistan, indian can not across border on foot, that means that chinese travellers have to take train or bus, so that i had to wait next day by spending one day by train over border.
I met another chinese traveller who met the same situation, she took bus to across border.

From pakistan, I am told that chinese can not on foot have to take vehicle across border to india.

Summary the following information for chinese travellers.
General information:
India side: checkpoint Attari, border city: Amirsar
Pakistan side: checkpoint wagah border city: lahore
Transporation:
Train: monday and Thursday cost: india rupees 20 and pakistan rupees 100

india side :train station attari is away 30km from amirsar,(15RS bus arrive attari town, go through town is station about 1km), 3km from attari border.

train will departure from attari railway station about 2 pm but you should arrive there in the morning( better before 10 am for customs clearance), 6:00 pm will arrive pakistan lahore.

pakistan side: wagah train station away 25km from lahore( no#4 bus to border, ask bus staffs before taking bus due to some no#4 will drop at town not to attain border), 3km from border.

train timetable have not got, but should be very early morning because i saw train from pakistan arrived in attari on 1:00PM.

Bus: Tuesday, wednesday, friday and saturday, cost: 750RS india rupees, from pakistan to india is not known,shoud be same charges with pakistan rupees.

India side, bus will departure from amirsar international bus terminal( not main bus sation) on 9:30AM, but should arrive there 1 hour in advance for security checking. noon 12:00 will arrive pakistan lahore.

pakistan side: bus will departure from lahore main bus station on 9:00 AM, make sure that you should arrive one hour in advance for security checking.
( on Sunday, there is not bus or train)

The train will departure around afternoon 2 pm, but you have to go there before 10 AM due to

departure processing and customs clearance will spend long time, note that pls bring your

everything to enter platform area, after entering you can leave there because there is

customs area already.

After entering platform, you can find a bank which can change india rupees to pakistan

rupees, exchange rates is 100 indian rs to 158 pakistan rs, there is nice rate,but when you

arrive pakistan lahore city, you can find 100:160 rate.

after clearance, around 12:00 you can buy train ticket 20 indian rs.

once train across boder, in pakistan site, wagah railway station, all of passagers have to

left train for check-in and customs clearance, 20 miniutes are enought but you have to wait

for all passagers, afternoon 5:30 pm, train will arrive lahore around 6:30 pm.

once you complete check-in clearance, you will be asked to buy 100 pakistan rs for train

ticket.

pls be noted that india site customs officers maybe will put you a long waiting process,

counter number is 8 for foreigners, there are two or three officers will always ask you

waiting based my experience, if happen, ask imigiration officer or patroling customs

officers to get their help, they are professional and reliable.

Note:
1: pls always ask tourism agencies or immigration bureau if possible when you arrive in india border city amirsar or pakistan lahore, confirm whether or change of the above or updating to avoid unnecessary border trouble;
2: pls reserve one or two days before visa expired to be flexiable time to avoid overdue visa period caused by border policy changes, anyway visa extension is not a pleased thing.
