From what were found, except Kazakhstan, the other countries required to have visas before entering the countries. There is no way to get all visas before the start of the journey. So visas must be applied at the prior country before entering the next country. Each visa application can take up to 14days - 1 month. And for traveling to/through the "sensitive" areas, need additional permit and money. Most visas are up to $100USD or more! It is all about money and time!!!
Wait a minute. Further investigation provides some hopes. These central Asia countries have embassies in Jordan or Iran. So we can obtain visas for these countries in Jordan or Iran. But the visa fees are quite expensive. Can up to $100USD / country. That's ripeoff.
South American and African countries are either exempt for visa or can just get the visa at the airport (and some land entry points). That's tourism.

Suppose I start from Buenos Aries, fly to Ushuaia, then take the road journey back to Buenos Aries. And my main points of stay are Calafate and El Chalten (see the icebergs, a short boat trip, a 1-2 days trekking in the trails up the mountain, ...), plus short stops at the small towns on the way back, how many days will this take?
Also, it seems the Antarctica cruises, even just going to the Antarctica Peninsula, are expensive (~$6000 USD for 8 days!). Is there any cheaper cruise, maybe less days? The poor backpacker me just can't afford $6000 for this.

香港的话,打去IRAN 领事馆问啦, 那MM会告诉你IRAN哪家旅行社可以发签证批号的. 看事先签好行不行. 如果飞过去IRAN 的某些机场, HKSAR 护照可以落地签, 但只是7天.
路上找伴也不难,随源而聚, 随缘而散. 事先找了, 合不来的,路上也会分开, 难得给自己的LIFE 一个BREAK,何必受制于找不找到伴呢? 想做就去做吧.

I can read simplified and traditional Chinese, and write some traditional Chinese, but my Potunghua is soso. I don't have a Chinese keyboard, or Chinese editor, and I don't know Chinese word entry. So it's extremely hard for me to use Chinese on a computer. But I am a 100% Chinese, and proud to be so.

China and Australia can get Iranian visa at the airport, no mention of China HK SAR.
In the middle-east, many countries, e.g. Jordan and Syria allows visa application at point of entry by land. I have gone to Israel, entered Jordan, then Syria by land before, and get my visa at point of entry. Iran seems having "very special" visa policies, at least that's my perception. Just not sure about enter Iran by land, because some countries allow tourists to apply for visa at the airport, but not by land.

April to October is winter in Patagonia. Buses and flights will be affected and frequent cancellations are expected. Usually, no cruise to Antarctica. Crossing the Magellan Channel by ferry to Ushuaia will be limited and restricted.

i'm interested in the silk road route
the thing is i start my backpacking trip this Sunday from Mexico and go down to south america , i plan to spend 6 month traveling and 2 month in Brazil volunteer then fly to Europe
really depends if the timing works out, lol
i don't want to miss israel, lol
visas are tough for the route
I really want to find someone for the Silk Road (North Tienshan Route by the Central Asian countries, former Soviet regions).
We can join at Jordan or Syria. Normally, the Silk starts at Istanbul (Constantinople), then by sea to Tyre, which is now in Israel. I plan to travel from Cairo to Tyre, and start my silk road journey from Tyre, skipping the Istanbul-sea-Tyre leg.
Visa plans:
1. Getting a visa to Jordan should not be a problem.
2. In Jordan, we will apply for visas for Syria and Iran. Should not a problem. Iraq is an unkown.
3. In Jordan, we will try to get as much as possible the visas to Central Asian countries - The *stan's!!!
4. In Iran, we will try to get the remaining visas to Central Asian countries - The *stan's!!!
5. Worst come to worst for the Central Asian countries, we will get the visa for the next country on the way.
6. China (hopefully) should not be a problem.
Absolutely agreed that "visas are tough for the route". If we don't try, we will not be able to get the visas and to finish the route. The word "failure" is not among my vocabulary. We will get to Chang'an - China, none the least.
Let me know your thoughts. When do you plan to fly from Brazil to Europe?
