August 18th Day 1: Nairobi/Samburu

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through central Kenya and north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve with hot lunch en route. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at samburu sopa lodge –www.sopalodges.com.

19th August 2009

Day 2. Samburu
Spend the day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drives. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Optional visit to a local Samburu village.
All meals and overnight at lodge .

20th August 2009

Day 3: Lake Nakuru
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive via the Equator before getting to Nanyuki the base of mount Kenya to the floor of the Rift Valley - to Lake Nakuru Nat. Park with a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Hot or picnic lunch en route. Arrive Lake Nakuru Park in time for an afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

21 August 2009

Day 4: Maasai Mara
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara arriving camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the –camp. Approx Transit time: 6 hrs

August 22 2009 to 23 August 2009

Day 5& 6: Maasai Mara
Spend two days in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant).
On one day you will go out with picnic lunch boxes to spend most of the day in the park coming back to the lodge late afternoon, while on the second day you will have an early morning pre-breakfast game drive, and another one late afternoon.
There will also be an optional visit to a local Maasai village.
All meals and overnight at the camp.

Day 7: MASAI MARA/AMBOSELI
Depart Maasai Mara in the morning and drive to Amboseli via to Nairobi with hot or picnic lunch en route, arriving in the afternoon. All meals at the Amboseli sopa lodge

Day 8: Amboseli/Nairobi

Morning Tea/Coffee will be served before proceeding for an early morning game drive. The majestic and breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro can be seen at this time. Return to lodge for late breakfast. Have the last game drive and depart for Nairobi after lunch., Meal plan: {B, L, D）
