AGAIN "MALAS PASCO" Bad Christmas an "MALAPASCUA", bad Omen??
A TRAGIC DIVE ACCIDENT happend today Christmas (Holy evening, Dec.24 2009) 1 pm on a EXOTIC Diveboat near MONAD SHOAL.
A NORWEGIAN national, Isaksen Knut Aksel, 45, Divemaster from Oslo- went together with his dive buddy down in the deep near Monad Shoal for TECH DIVE, when a tragic accident happend and the Norwegian diver died.
This is the tragic story as far as we know now:
It happened christmas eve dec.24 2009 about 11:30 am. The dive boat from EXOTIC started early in the morning 5 am for a two-dive dive tech dive tour to Monad Shoal.
About 12 pm Aksel and his dive buddy went down in the deep to MONAD SHOAL for their second TECH DIVE. Then after a while - the divers had already conducted a stop at 21 meters without any problems- they went back to go up to the surface. At about 16 meters during a decrompression stop dive instructor Akselrealized that something went wrong with. Aksel was tumbling and lost orientation he had cramps and he had NO VALVE IN HIS MOUTH. So dive buddy tried immediatly to get air in the victims mouth and took his own valve/regulator to put in the victims mouth to save his life, but without success cause he could not open the victims jaw which was locked in spasm. So Aksel went OUT OF AIR .
The two divers had each with them two stage bottles with 50% oxygen and one with 100% oxygen. When things went wrong dive buddy discovered that the victim had brought the wrong stage bottle - the one that contained 100% oxygen instead of 50% oxygen only. He controlled his own two bottles, both of which proved to contain 50% oxygen.
It therefore seems clear what caused the accident - the victim was breathing too high oxygen concentration and had convulsions and respiratory arrest as a result. So the accident during this diving experience has happened because two of stage bottles to be used for decompression stops were confused. The cause of accident was that Aksel got to high concentration of oxygen in breathing air during a decompression stop at 16 meters.Dive buddy did what he could to rescue the victim, but had to finally send him to the surface in order to conduct his own decompression stops.
While dive buddy tried to save the life of the victim both of them have been wrapped into the lines of the surface buoys. He had to cut them loose before he could send the victim to the surface. The 45-year-old Norwegian was quickly spotted by the dive boat, which had seen the surface markers, the two divers had been sent up. Resuscitation was attempted, the BOAT CREW tried to reanimate the diver but without success, live could not be saved, he died. (20 minutes without oxygen for the brain is surely the dead for humans life).
The victim 45-year-old originally came from Finnmark, and was a renowned instructor in the Oslo area in which he was affiliated with Sport Diver.

休闲潜水多好，搞什么技术潜水啊，16M，用气瓶，什么问题都不会发生，唉。。。。。。。
我觉得，比之同情，死者会更愿意得到理解。
诚然你说的是实话，但请想象，假如，只是假如（touchwood...touchwood...），您在休闲潜水中出了事故，不了解潜水的人一句“浮潜多好，搞什么潜水啊”，您的亲友会得到安慰吗？活着的人会因此得到正确的经验吗？一个人，因投入喜爱的运动失去性命，死后还要受到质疑，得不到同好（tech dive and fun dive，我们至少算是半个同好？）的理解，他还能期望得到什么人的理解？我不懂得技潜，但我至少懂得应该对逝去的人保持一份尊敬。不管你对技潜的质疑是出于真正的不解，还是表达作为一个fun diver的庆幸之情，我都觉得，你的言论，不会给认识或者不认识死者的人带来任何积极的意义。面对沉重的事实，任何观点都显得过于轻率，我觉得唯一可以做的是，心怀敬畏，说一句：R.I.P.
呵呵，没有人天生是“专业人士”的，很明显中国像你这种类型占主流，所以我们的国家，从来没有牛x的玩家。

这个没看明白
“他带了两个减压瓶，都是EAN50的高氧。”
如果我没有理解错误的话，是出事的人拿了２个减压瓶都是纯氧的，另外一个人拿了２个减压瓶都是ＥＡＮ５０的。
正确的应该是一人一只100%纯氧+一只ＥＡＮ５０的高氧，在不同深度做减压。文章里面没有提到他们是打算去多少米和如何减压计划，但归结原因是拿错了减压瓶。。。正常来说在下水前每个人应该是自行测量自己的气瓶的氧分压的，然后贴上标签。。。。所以不知道是哪个环节出了问题。
如果他是指victim的buddy的话就好理解了，纯氧似乎应该是在6m的时候使用的。

Exotic Resort would like to express their heartfelt sorrow to the family of Mr. Knut Isaksen who died on December 24th in a tragic accident. Knut a fellow PADI instructor and very experienced diver, was on holiday with his diving buddy Mr. Nikola Olsen. They both arrived at Exotic on December 11th and were due to leave January 1st. Both divers were very well liked by all Exotic staff and other guests. During a technical fun dive on Monad Shoal on December 24th at 11.20am Mr. Isaksen encountered problems during one of his staged deco stops. He alerted his diving buddy who immediately came to his assistance. Unfortunately Mr. Isaksen died in the arms of his diving buddy.
Out of respect for Mr. Isaksens family and friends we do not want to repeat the facts of this tragic accident. Further Exotic Resort felt it necessary to wait until the official investigation had been completed. We respect the privacy of the family and have communicated with them through Mr. Olsen, we have also offered our assistance to them in any way possible. Mr. Olsen who was on the same dive boat has expressed his sorrow to the family and friends of Mr. Isaksen and has assured them that everything within the power of all divers and boat crew involved in the incident was done to try to revive Mr. Isaksen.
We would like to thank the diving community on Malapascua who through this tragic episode have shown a strong united front and have offered their support and condolences. At times like these it is very difficult for the family members and all those involved, rumors and false reports only make this already difficult situation even harder.
We would like to express our outrage on behalf of all the staff at Exotic and the family members of Mr. Isaksen to Mr Mike Weiland the co-owner of Aabana Beach and Watersports, a ‘neighbor’ of Exotic.
Mr. Weiland a known trouble maker on the island who has had many conflicts with locals and other island operators; has no first hand information regarding this incident. Instead Mr. Weiland has written a horrific and completely fabricated account of what he thinks happened. He has blatantly lied and created his own version of the facts. He did not even have the decency to find out the name and nationality of Mr. Isaksen. Mr. Mike Weiland has created un-necessary pain and stress for all those involved by using this horrific incident for his own personal fight against all the other operators and especially Exotic. Mr Weiland has a small resort on the island and knows nothing about the diving industry or community, he thinks that all the operators here on Malapascua are cut throat and have no standards which is completely wrong. The diving community here on Malapascua works very hard to ensure safety and high standards are maintained at all times and here at Exotic we are proud of our safety standards.
We would like offer our apologies to the family and friends of Mr. Isaksen for any undue distress this story has given them and would like to ask all who read it to disregard it as total fabrication and lies.
Mr. Knut Isaksen, you will be with us in our thoughts and prayers and once again we offer our condolences to all his family and friends.

难道是buddy和victim纠缠在一起了？buddy不能上水（因为要做减压），所以必须把绳子解开，于是花了20分钟（！）- ”20 minutes without oxygen for the brain is surely the dead for humans life“
请教一下，在双方都没有完成减压的情况下是不是基本必死无疑？buddy这种情况下应该不能不做减压陪victim上水的吧? 这样帮victim的BCD打气送上水会被氮气溢出致死，不送上水会被淹死。。。
规范流程很重要啊。。。
下水前检查减压气，切换前互相核查，确认无误拉出二级头，再顺着二级头的中压管摸到一级头，再次确认没有用错气瓶，然后在目视Buddy的情况下同时切换。这些都要变成second nature才能确保万无一失。
未完成减压升水，可以在把Victim交给船工之后，返回原来的减压点，在每个层次完成原来计划时间的1.5倍，如果气瓶容量不够，应该提前在SMB上提示船工紧急准备额外的气瓶供减压用。

A NORWEGIAN national died while diving in the waters of Malapascua Island in Daanbantayan town, north Cebu on the morning of Christmas eve.
An unconscious Isaksen Knut Aksel, 45, was found floating by his Canadian diving instructor Tim Latimer at 11:30 a.m.
Aksel dove alone when two of his male friends, Xavier and Nicola left him and Latimer to buy food in the island.
Latimer, who was in a shallow part of the island, said from where he was standing, he noticed Aksel floating face down in the Monad shoal diving spot, and called for help
The rescuers and Latimer in two pumpboats tried but failed to revive Aksel. They brought Aksel to the beach and then to the Daanbantayan District Hospital but he died on the way there.
Dr. Nicomedes Jabel said the casue of death was drowning.
PO1 Ramil Claro of the Daanbantayan police said Aksel arrived and rented a room at the Dutch Philippine Diving Shop and Beach Resort on Dec. 11. He was supposed to leave on Jan. 1 next year.
Police said they were investigating the incident.

Exotic Resort的回應跟我在一樓轉貼的report其實並沒有衝突,那裡面也沒有任何對resort攻擊的字眼.反而是cebu daily news把Mr Isaksen寫成是student diver,而他的instructor讓他獨潛看起來才是別有用心.而且從島上不可能看到Monad shoal 的水面上浮著一個diver吧?
所以我才認為cebu daily news寫的是胡謅,就沒有一併轉貼

Scuba diving accident kills PADI dive instructor

CEBU, Philippines — A tourist died while scuba diving off Malapascua Island in Cebu.
Authorities told CDNN the scuba diving accident victim was Knut Isaksen, 45, a tourist from Norway who died on Christmas eve while diving with Malapascua Exotic Dive and Beach Resort.
Police said Isaksen, a PADI dive instructor, was found floating unconscious at the surface after he encountered problems near the end of a technical "fun" dive at Monad Shoal.
Witnesses said Isaksen signaled to his buddy, Nikola Olsen, that he needed help during one of his staged deco stops but it was too late.
Daanbantayan Police Chief Laurel Almirante said a post-morten examination indicated that Isaksen drowned.
Isaksen and Olsen, who traveled together from Norway to the Philippines, arrived at the Malapascua Exotic Dive and Beach Resort on December 11 and were scheduled to return home on January 1.
