CentralWorld to collapse

The burning CentralWorld shopping complex is starting to collapse, Pathum Wanaram Temple community member Boonlert Klaipook said on Wednesday night.

The flames at one of Thailand's major shopping centres and landmarks were starting to calm down, Mr Boonlert said at around 22.40pm.

CentralWorld was believed to be set on fire by anti-government protesters in the evening after some leaders of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) surrendered to the police in the afternoon.

Mr Boonlert said more than 60 CentralWorld staff were now resting at Pathum Wanaram Temple.
