it's about 6 hours drive from salt lake to YNP West entrance. I don't know where are you going to stay, but I would stay inside the park if possible. The most convience location is the Canyon Lodge area, it's centrally located. If you have 6 days I would spend maybe 2 days in Grand Teton NP, it's a beautiful park.
