杰遵佩玛王后出生不算平民, 曾祖是东部扎西岗宗的宗本, 是第一任国王的支持者。母亲出生布姆塘贵族家庭，与国王先祖是亲戚。
另外网上关于国王17岁时就向7岁的杰遵佩玛求婚的故事完全是杜撰的。

刚亲历了普纳卡、扎西曲宗、廷布体育场的三场婚礼仪式，近距离看，王后比照片上漂亮。

订婚宣言

国王是在2011年5月20日的国会年度第7次会议上宣布这个消息的, 摘要如下:

ROYAL ADDRESS TO THE 7th SESSION OF PARLIAMENT,
20 May 2011, Thimphu
OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

Today, at this auspicious gathering, I would like to make a short announcement to all the people of the 20 Dzongkhags.
As King, it is now time for me to marry. After much thought I have decided that the wedding shall be later this year.
Now, many will have their own idea of what a queen should be like – that she should be uniquely beautiful, intelligent and graceful. I think with experience and time, one can grow into a dynamic person in any walk of life with the right effort. For the queen, what is most important is that at all times, as an individual she must be a good human being, and as queen, she must be unwavering in her commitment to serve the People and Country.
As my queen, I have found such a person and her name is Jetsun Pema. While she is young, she is warm and kind in heart and character. These qualities together with the wisdom that will come with age and experience will make her a great servant to the nation.
This union does not mean that I am starting my own family. From the very day I received the Dhar Ngay-Nga from the sacred Machhen, the people of the 20 Dzongkhags became my family. Such is the duty and privilege of all Kings of Bhutan. It is through this union, that I shall have a Queen who will support, and work with me, as I serve the People and Country.
The wedding will be in accordance with age-old tradition, to seek the blessings of our Guardian Deities. I ask the government not to make any plans for a grand celebration. The happiness of my beloved father and the blessings of our People will give me the greatest joy and happiness.

Brief Official Biography of His Majesty the King of Bhutan
His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck
was born on February 21, 1980, as the eldest prince
of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
His Majesty attended public schools in Bhutan before
pursuing higher studies in the US and in the UK. His
Majesty attended National Defence College, New
Delhi.
On 9TH of December 2006, His father, the Fourth
Druk Gyalpo abdicated and His Majesty became
King in a simple prayer ceremony between His
Majesty and His father. His Majesty made his first
public address as the King at the National Day celebration on 17th December 2006 in
Changlingmithang Stadium in Thimphu.
His Majesty has been personally overseeing the smooth foundation of a strong
vibrant democracy. He has travelled the length and breadth of the country to meet
with the people and discuss the draft Constitution and the introduction of
parliamentary democracy. The Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan was adopted
on July 18th 2008 by the people represented by the first elected government.
Formal coronation ceremonies took place, two years later, on November 1, 2008
according to the will of the people and government.
After formally becoming the King, His Majesty launched the National Cadastral
Resurvey to resolve the long-standing land issues that affected every Bhutanese –
especially farmers. Following the major earthquakes and floods in 2009, he
personally toured the areas several times and initiated the rebuilding process.
When in Thimphu, His Majesty grants audiences to any citizen with grievances and
who are in distress. He also grants audiences to visiting state dignitaries,
government officials, students and private citizens.
His Majesty the King is a keen and accomplished artist and photographer.

除了用各种织艺上乘的其拉装扮自己，女人们另一件饰物就是肩带。无论进入宗堡、寺庙、觐见王室，还是在乡村节庆期间聚会舞蹈和迎接远方来客，她们把肩带斜披在肩上。一女友一咬牙买了一条丝线手织的，150美元，说是要对自己好一些。

大婚纪念红包(其实是黄色的), 内有不丹央行为此次婚礼发行的100 Nu 面值新纸币，正面是二人的订婚照，背面是结婚仪式地点普纳卡宗堡，这在不丹历史上是第一次将国王王后二人合影印在钱币上。内页有二人的简历官方介绍，这个纪念封出售价格500Nu,另有面值500 Nu的纪念银币礼盒, 售价5000 Nu。

不丹的纸币,怎么就缺第二任国王呢? 问当地人,他们居然没有意识到这个问题。

真高兴终于有人认真辟谣了。

王后的姐姐嫁给了国王的弟弟。王后的姑姑嫁给了国王叔祖（祖母的兄弟）的儿子，所以从这个角度来说，国王王后家族有姻亲。
