Yosemite is definitely a place to go, you can see the views @ http://www.yosemite.org/vryos/ from there you can drive south then east to Las Vegas. If you are planning a April trip, the weather should be very nice and snow should have melted away by then. Have a nice trip!
How many days you suggest stay there, the accomodation seems to be a a hard nut to crack. Camping is highly recommended by many, but not suitable for my trip
As to Vegas, how about stay on North Strip, is it safe and convenient?
Now trying to book hostels and transportation among San Fan, LA, Vegas, just like to look for a needle in a bottle of hay, any tips?
Also if you are looking for hotels in Vegas, you can get a much better rate Sun- Thurs than if you were to go on Fri-Sat. Sun - Thurs rates are about $49-$99US for good hotels on the strip, Bellagio and Venetian pricing is a little bit more. All hotels have their own website and usually have the best prices, if you do gamble, you can get your hotel and meals comp. if you play $25US a hand for four hours usually, Bellagio and Venetian won't look at you unless you play $100 a hand min.
DON'T EVER STAY @ DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS, have to stay on the strip if possible.

Bellagio and Venetian is probably the two best hotels but also cost the most, second tier hotels include mgm grand which I think is great for the money, got to stay in the main tower though, mirage is good and so is Paris hotel.
The bargain hotels are probably Monte Carlo, NY NY, Treasure Sun - Thurs is probably $49-89 per nite. There are more hotels but my mind is going blank at this time.

硅谷本身没有什么好玩的，建议去下YOSEMITE，我上周刚去过，很不错，也感受了一次雪地驾驶，雪很深。不过你去的时候已经没有雪了，如果时间长的话还可以去爬山，那里有几个3000多米的山，最高的好象有4000多米。

Yosemite在4月初時應該還有雪的。我是去年4月底去的，穿兩件長袖衣，在不深的雪地行走，很有意思，另外就是很多小瀑布，據說是美國最美的國家公園之一。早晚溫差大，且營地要早訂，并帶厚羽絨睡袋(營地不提供任何保暖用品，晚上可0度以下)。
如有人一起租車，從Zion和Bruce去到大峽谷，我朋友說Bruce Canyon比大峽谷好看。我后悔沒人同行沒去成。在大峽谷天氣好可坐直升機看，我是在拉斯維加斯才訂的，比提前訂便宜，別理他什么兩人以上才有折扣的話，我就是一個人，照給我打折的。有的還提供機場接送，提前在LA訂也是划算的，可省10美金。此外LA去Vegas我是網上訂西南航空的機票，單程只要19美金+稅，比汽車還便宜!
在拉斯維加斯要吃Bellengo(好象這么串，5星)或是paris或是Rio的自助餐。
