ARRIVE- NAIROBI

Met on arrival at the airport by Somak representative and transferred to the Somak Safari lounge where light breakfast/refreshments will provided.

After an early breakfast, drive north across the Equator to the panoramic semi-arid and rugged landscape of Samburu National Reserve (340 kms, approximately 6 hours drive) arriving in time for lunch at Ashnil Samburu Camp. Later in the evening, proceed on a game drive in the reserve which boasts peculiar species of wildlife such as the Grevy’z zebra, long necked gerenuk, the Somali ostrich & the reticulated giraffe. DAY 02: SAMBURU

Early morning and late afternoon game-drives enable you to see wildlife unique to this arid yet beautiful part of Kenya. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at Samburu Game Lodge (BLD)

DAY 03: SAMBURU- LAKE NAKURU

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for late lunch at Lake Nakuru lodge (350 kms approximately 6hours drive). Enjoy a late afternoon game-drive in the park once described as the most famous bird spectacle in the world. Along with thousands of lesser and greater flamingoes the park is also a sanctuary for the endangered black and white rhinos and the Rothschild’s Giraffe. DAY 04: LAKE NAKURU – LAKE BOGORIA

Today after breakfast, transfer to Lake Bogoria National Reserve arriving in time for lunch at Lake Bogoria Spa Resort (125km, approximately 2hrs drive). After lunch, drive to Lake Bogoria National Reserve for an afternoon exploration of the lake. Note the lake is best explored on foot and is renowned for its abundant birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Spa Resort (BLD)

DAY 05: LAKE BOGORIA – LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Naivasha (205km, approximately 3hrs drive) arriving in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. On and around this 108 sq km freshwater lake are over 400 species of birds. Rest of the day at leisure at the camp or proceed on any of the available optional excursions/activities at the camp (to book and pay locally). Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge (BLD)

DAY 06: LAKE NAIVASHA- MAASAI MARA

After an early breakfast, depart from your hotel driving along the floor of the Rift valley with short stopovers on the way (315 kms, approximately 6hrs drive). You will arrive in time for lunch at Ashnil Mara Camp. Later in the evening, proceed on a game drive in the reserve. The Maasai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here, particularly when the migration is on, and millions of wildebeests and zebras make their way back and forth across the Mara River on their annual trek. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of plains game, lions - particularly the black manned males, elephants, cheetah, rhino and even the elusive leopard. DAY 07/08: MAASAI MARA

Full days in the Mara with early morning and late afternoon game drives being provided in the reserve to explore its vast plains and rolling hills for more game spotting opportunities. You may also proceed on an early morning balloon flight followed by a bubbly bush breakfast (optional extra, supplement cost to apply). Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara Camp for the next two nights (BLD)

DAY 09: MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI

After breakfast, return to Nairobi (300km, approximately 6hrs drive) arriving in the afternoon. Drop of will be at the Somak Safari lounge where light lunch/refreshments will be provided before final transfer to the airport for your outbound international flight.
