华南第一坡？老少咸宜！No. 1 Slope in South China

12月30日火龙A线拉练，到过华南第一坡。从西坑古道上，森林茂盛，古树沧桑，印象深刻。到顶之前的防火驴道，陡而不急，惊而不险，走得可快可慢，爽身悦目。十号界碑之前往右岔下去的驴道原来就是火龙A线要走的华南第一坡北坡，更给我留下惊险神秘的想象。
On December 30 while excercising Huolong A Line, I had been to No. One Slope in South China. I got up by Xikeng Old Road, alone heavy forest and very old village trees which impressed me very much. The fire protection way before reaching the top, steep but not accurate, surprizing without danger, good for passing quick or slow, very body excercising and eye pleasing. The branch down just before No. 10 Boundery Stone Mark turned out to be the north side of No. One Slope in South China as part of Huolong A Line left me more room for amazing imagination.

因为问得不够准确，30号那天我被三位好心的黄埔驴友带离了A线。虽然得赏西坑美景，未能按拉练要求完成A线却是心中的遗憾。
Because of my in-accurate questioning, that day I was kindly leat awy from A Line by three hikingmates from Huangu District. Although I got the chance to appreciate the beauty of Xikeng Old Road, it is still a pity for me for not completing fully the exercise of Huolong A Line.

元月三日，闲来无事，又要照看四岁多的小侄子。想到小子火凤线都能走下来，何不带他到华南第一坡试试身手？上坡虽然陡，但驴道宽阔，树木间隔也比较密，随时可以停下休息。驴道面也凹凸不平，即使摔到，也不会下滚。即使下滚，也是很短距离的事情。上坡我是比较有信心的，即使三十分钟走不完，走它一个小时甚至更长时间也可以的。
On the third of January, it was a leisure day to me and I needed to take care of the 4 years nephew again. Thinking the little kid had sucessfully completed the hiking of Huofeng Line, why couldn’t I bring him to show up in the No. One Slope in China? Although it is very steep, but the hiking way is a very broad fire protection way with dense trees growing there, and resting places are everywhere alone the way. The surface is rough with solid stones. Fall down is just a fall down and one will not roll down alone the slope. Even it happen, the roll down will be stopped in short distance. I am confident for the kid to climb up. If we could not get the job done in half an hour, no problem for us to get it done in one hour or even more time.

纠结的是下坡。让小孩自己下，有点担心。背着小孩子下，那更多一份担心。毕竟大家都叫那里作华南第一坡，其陡度和惊险性是不容忽视的。
Getting down the slope concerns me more. Let the kid walk down himself, it is a bit concern to me. Carry him to walk down, that’s two bit of concerns. After all, it is No. One Slope in South China, we just could not ignore the steep of it and the dangers in hiking through there.

顺着火龙A线上，没走过担心找不到上华南第一坡的路。我沿走过的西坑上，去碉堡那玩玩就回头，走北坡下，那还错得了？下来后认定回筲箕窝的方向，即使走错路，多走几公里也是问题不大的。
Going by the direction of Huolong A Line, I was afraid the I could not find the way to the No. One Slope as I hadn’t been there. Going by Xikeng where I had been to, return after stop by the Blockhouse then get down from the North side of the Slope, ain’t there no mistake? After getting down, walked towars Shaojiwo Reservior. Even if it was a wrong way on the right direction, a few kilometer more wouldn’t be a big problem.

认定就三两个小时的驴程，慢慢吃个早午餐才出发，凤凰山下步道出口停车，方便回来时走累了早点上车，然后走去西坑古道。到西坑古道入口时已经十一点多了。
Thinking it was a short hike, we started after the breaklunch and parked our car before the entrance at the feet of Phenix Mount, so that we could get on the car early after the hike, then we walked to Xikeng Old Road. It had been after 11Am when we arrived the entrance of Xikeng Old Road.

想不到的是，我们还在西坑赏古树，后面来了一位天涯俱乐部的强驴，他浩浩荡荡地带来了一群的小毛驴，小的要大人背，一岁不到，大的也就四岁和七岁。开头我还想甚至对家属说，半山腰有公路到的，他们的车也许开到半山腰等他们了。
Surprizingly, while we were still appreciating the old trees in Xikeng Old Road, a strong hiker from Tian Ya Clud brought a group of little hikers to show up. The youngest one is not one year old yet. The elders are four and seven respectively. At first, I thoght and told my wife that there is driving road to the waist of the mount and their car could be waiting for them at the waist.

没想到，两个四岁的和一个七岁的碰到在一起，就几乎马上形成了一个尖刀排。他们谁也不愿落后，你追我赶地领着大人们往山顶上冲了。
More, when the 2 four years old boy and the 1 seven years old boy met, they formed a pioneer team immediately and none of them wanted to be left behind. They competed each other for the No. One place and then led us, the whole group towards the top.

一路都是小驴们领的路。他们都有跌到的时候，但是都能稳稳地跌到，平且能自己爬起来，继续稳步往前追赶。
They were at the front all the way. They did fall down sometimes, but stably to the ground, and climbed up themselves and continued after standing up.

很快我们就去到山顶的十号界碑那里，很快我们就去到碉堡那里。我是一直追得上小驴们的，当然是拼了老命也要追上，追不上喝令他们等也是不能让他们甩掉的。当然我们也有家属是落后很多，过来很久才追到碉堡那里的。
Very soon we arrived No. 10 Boundery Mark Stone. Very soon we arrrived Blockhouse area. I was always catching up the kids’ team. Certianly had to do my best to catch them up. If I failed, I would shout out and ordered them to slow down for me. Certainly some of our relatives were way behind, and only long time after they arrived the Blockhouse area.

天涯的大鹏哥甚至是带来了帐篷和路餐工具和水及食品。日军碉堡遗址那里，当天中午简直就成了欢乐的天堂。帐篷完全是小驴们装起来的，虽然需要我在旁边的指点。大鹏大哥将第一炉水烧开之前，小驴们就将帐篷弄好了。
Brother Dapeng from Tianya even brought tent and cooking facility and food & water for cooking. That noon time that Blockhouse area was just a paradise of joy and funness. The tent was totally set up by the kids, although with me there giving instructions. They set the tent up before Brother Dapeng finished cooking the first tank of water.

那里的石头堆，居然是那样的合适学习攀岩。小孩那种凭本能的贴紧石头，伸手，蹬脚，那个标准的攀岩动作，我不是攀岩教练都不知道怎么去形容。站在旁边保护的都几乎忘了保护，只知道欣赏小毛驴们的开心攀爬了。
That block of stones, are just good for learning rock climbing. The kids climbed up and crossed over the big stones, by nature they lowered their bodies close tight to the stone, holded the stone, stood tight on the stone gap. Just like standard rock climbing. As a non profesional, I just could not tell how right they are. Adults standing by for protection almost forgot their protection responsibility for focusing too much to appreciate the kids’ climbing.

吃过玩过，虽然小驴们依依不舍，我们还是坚决分手告别了。他们要下龙洞，我们则想要反走A线那遗留的一段。
After eating and having fun in the Blockhouse area, although the kids did not want to depart, we made up our decision and ordered the kids to say goodbye to each other. They wanted to get down to Longdong and we needed to go back and hike that section of Line A I missed last time.

北坡下得并不难，小心一点很快就冲下来了。防火道那么宽大，两侧又几乎没有悬崖，下雨天足够滑时，象滑草一样冲下来也最多是损坏裤裆而已。
The North Slope is not difficult. Just a little bit careful we got down soon from there. The fire protection way is so broad, and almost no cliff on either sides. When the ground is slippy enough in the rainny days, gliding down like glass gliding will break the trousers only as the worst hurt..

但这一路距离不少，走了好久才到机耕路的。到机耕路之前居然还偶遇了钟落潭只驴仔。好有缘分。
But it is a distance walk. It toke us a long time to reach the driving way. Before we reached the driving way, we encountered Baby Donkey at the Pool. How destined we are.

下到机耕路后没有了路标，有点彷徨，就不敢往对面山脊上去了。往对面山脊去的A线有路边就好了，那当时我一定会毫不犹豫地走下去。
We wondered a little bit after arriving the driving way. There’s no hiking marks there, we dared not cross the driving way to climb up the otherside’s ridge. It would be helpful if there were hiking marks on the otherside for Line A. If so, I would no doubt go straight to cross the driving way.

印象中有听人说过走机耕路的事情，于是转右，走机耕路一直走到渔东路了。其中有两三个地方有驴道标记转左上山的，看看前面的高山，看看时间，也就作罢了。回到空置的华立学院，已是下午五点钟。当然直接回头下西坑就近得多了。往前走过大球走最近的线路下龙洞也许也会近一些。
In my impression, I heard someone talking about walking on the driving way, so we turned right and continued our trip by the driving way to reach Yudong East Road. On the way, there are two or three exits for hiking way on the left. Looking at the mounts there, and the time by then, we gave up any try. I had been 5PM when we arrived the idle Huali College. Certainly return by the same Xikeng Old Road will make the trip much shorter. Going ahead to cross the Big Ball and reach Longdong by the shortest lane will possibly be a shorter trail too.

事实证明，华南第一坡是适合广州人阖家出游的好地方。
Facts prove that No. One Slope in South China is a good place for Guangzhou families’ hiking.
